Wild Adventures
Located at 3766 Old Clyattville Rd, Valdosta, GA 31601. On the border between Georgia and Florida, Wild Adventures is a zoological theme park. Founded in 1996 by Kent Buescher, it opened as a small petting zoo. Soon, it grew into a full-fledged theme park. Today, Wild Adventures is a popular attraction with families and friends. This 170-acre theme park features rides and shows, as well as hundreds of animals and exotic plants. It is part of a family entertainment complex owned by Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation. The company manages over 26 themed entertainment properties across the country.
Among the many attractions at Wild Adventures is a water park called Splash Island. It features several slides and water rides. Guests can also visit the park's 20,000 square foot wave pool. In addition, Splash Island offers special activities such as a limbo contest and live DJ.
Earlier this year, Wild Adventures added a new attraction. This attraction will bring guests closer to the Sulcata Tortoise habitat. The new ride will be called Trail Trackers Adventure Ride. Other new experiences at Wild Adventures include the Liberty Farms petting zoo. This area is also part of a three-acre adventure zone called Discovery Outpost. This area offers guests six family-friendly rides and an Alapaha Trail boardwalk through a real Georgia swamp.
The park also features a FlowRider, a giant raft ride. In addition, the park is home to many old-school arcade games. There are also some hands-on Gator games to try.
Besides the animal exhibits and roller coasters, the park also offers live music, concerts and shows. The park hosts events throughout the year, including seasonal Fall festivals and Halloween celebrations. In addition, guests can take in the spectacular fireworks every Friday in July. The park also hosts season passholder preview nights. During these nights, guests can experience the park earlier than usual and have access to specially priced snacks.
The park's Splash Island water park features several water slides and a 20,000 square foot wave pool. In addition, there are five shops to visit. It has received a coveted spot in the top 30 water parks in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
Another new attraction is the Wanyama Observation Deck and Botanical Garden. This new addition is the largest animal habitat in the park in over a decade. It includes a special feeding with giraffe Bariki. In addition, the deck has a viewing deck where guests can observe the wildlife. It also features an interactive children's section.

In 2007, the park became a part of Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation. Since that time, the company has expanded its offerings. The park has welcomed dozens of animals and added six new rides and shows. The park now has one of the largest collection of rides in the South.
